Rumora — Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-25
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rumora mobile app and the rumora.io website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What Rumora is
Rumora is a feed of rumors, leaks, predictions, and breaking-news items aggregated from journalists and public sources. Each rumor is scored by a medal tier based on the reporting journalist's track record. Rumora is not a primary news source — we link to the original reporting and score it.
Important:
- Medal scores are our automated estimate of how likely a rumor is to be accurate based on the journalist's past track record. They are not guarantees.
- Even gold-medal rumors can be wrong. Don't make financial, medical, or legal decisions based on rumors.
- We may make mistakes in scoring. We try to fix them when we see them.
2. Your account
To use Rumora you sign in with email, Apple, or Google. You agree:
- The contact information you provide is accurate
- You are at least 13 years old
- You will not share your account with others
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account
If you believe your account has been compromised, email hello@rumora.io.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Rumora to:
- Submit false, misleading, or harassing contributions
- Attempt to manipulate journalist scores through coordinated false reports
- Scrape, mirror, or republish Rumora's scoring data without written permission
- Reverse-engineer the app or its scoring system
- Use the Service for anything illegal
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules.
4. Content
Content you submit (contributions, flags, notes)
You retain ownership. By submitting, you grant Rumora a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and use the contribution for the purpose of operating the Service.
Content shown in the feed
Rumor headlines, body text, and source URLs come from third-party publications. Rumora claims no ownership of that content. We link to the original source for every rumor.
Journalist scores
Scores are computed by Rumora's algorithm and are our editorial estimate. Journalists do not approve their scores. If you are a journalist and want to dispute a score, email hello@rumora.io.
5. Subscriptions (Rumora Pro)
Rumora is free to use. Optional paid features ("Rumora Pro") are sold as subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- $4.99/month or $39.99/year (US pricing; varies by region)
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- Manage or cancel from Settings → [Apple ID / Google Account] → Subscriptions
- No refunds from Rumora directly — refund requests go to Apple or Google
- Apple/Play sometimes offer free trials. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you'll be charged.
If you delete your Rumora account, your active Apple/Play subscription is not automatically cancelled. Cancel separately in your Apple/Google account.
6. Free tier limits
Free users can follow up to 5 topics. Pro removes the limit. We may adjust the free-tier cap with reasonable notice.
7. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ACCURATE, OR ERROR-FREE.
Rumora is not a financial-advice service, a betting service, or a substitute for primary news. Don't bet your house on a gold-medal rumor.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rumora and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses — arising from your use of the Service.
If Rumora is found liable, total liability is limited to the amount you've paid Rumora in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app and at rumora.io/terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
10. Termination
You can stop using Rumora and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account).
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
